Advent, Week 2: The Season of Ingathering

Thank you, Deacon Hosea, for reminding us of the truth that the Holy Spirit is always waiting to assist us on our journey. I also like the idea of the Holy Spirit helping us through the seven gifts you mentioned. Truly when using these seven gifts, we can create the peace and justice that we so badly need. The challenge for us sometimes is that when we gather to plant seeds of faith, can we do it ungrudgingly? During this gathering season, we can be selective, thinking we should not waste our time with someone who needs a helping hand again. The second reading from Sunday is appropriate. James said, "Be patient, brothers and sisters, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains. You too must be patient" (Ja. 5:7-8).
